Jacques Rivette

Biography
He was born in 1928 in France. In 1950 he joined the Ciné-Blub du Quartier Latin and began writing reviews for the Gazette du Cinema magazine. In those days, he directed his first short films: Aux quatre coins (1949), Le Quadrille (1950), and Le Divertissment (1952). In 1952 he joined Cahiers du Cinema’s editorial staff. Some of his films are Paris Belong to Us (1960), Celine and Julie Go Boating (1974), and Don’t Touch the Axe (2007; Bafici ‘09).
