Hard to think of a film that could go even further into that thing we call “intimacy”. The filmmaker travels to Okinawa to film her ex-wife Miyuki, who’s now in a lesbian relationship and works in a brothel for the soldiers of the city’s American military base. A true tour de force, shot in 16mm with no simultaneous sound.
