Synopsis

There’s a long pan at the beginning of this short film, that’s accompanied by an off screen voice reading a poem about the “green belt” (a mountain chain near Portugal’s west coast), a counterpoint of what will come later; a distant and unruffled observation of the region, its workers, its flora, and its fauna. Right in the middle of that transition that goes from the poetic to the concrete is where Torres and Suzuki build an original and challenging exploration of nature.
