Synopsis

The conflictive situation behind the act of writing –of literary creation– can many times derive in small daily labyrinths: the white sheet, which nowadays blinks on a computer monitor, can be a dangerous abyss. This is the case of the main character in The Pursued, a writer whose present day becomes the starting point of a plot as dramatic as the beginning of a novel. After finding a mysterious package on the street, in the garbage, the character starts to reassess his relations with the people that surround him, to the point of creating a sort of special and mysterious unease in the deserted downtown apartment where he lives. Horacio Correa observes with a certain distance and the somewhat estranged spirit of someone who knows that, in the end, the plot runs smoothly without any chance of deriving its implications; as if chance would always filter into the film, in the writing, even if someone tried to calculate its effects. That conflict area of fiction is where the narration finds its basis.
