BAL 2010 Announcement

The seventh edition of the Buenos Aires Lab (BAL), an event that aims at supporting the development and production of independent cinema in Latin America, will take place within the framework of the 12th Buenos Aires International Independent Film Festival (BAFICI – April 7 through April 18)

BAL consists of activities which aim at fostering the bond among professionals and the search of funding. It is intended for filmmakers and producers of the region. The activities include the participation of professionals of the international industry (producers, sellers, distributors, TV networks, and funds) who are interested in Latin American cinematography. The activities aim at the contact and exchange between both spheres.

The 2010 edition of BAL will be held on April 8, 9, 10, and 11 and will be divided into the following sections:

Bridges: second edition of the workshop for producers from Latin America and Europe organized with the collaboration of EAVE and MEDIA INTERNATIONAL which will enable producers from both regions to work jointly for 4 days in Buenos Aires, in the BAL framework, during BAFICI 2010. April 8, 9, 10, and 11. The second part of the workshop will take place in Guijon during the International Film Festival, November 23 - 26.
Co-production Meetings: between the representatives of the selected Latin American projects and the potential co-producers from the rest of the world. April 10 and 11.
Work in Progress: exhibition of fragments of Argentine films in stages of shooting or completion. April 9 (presentation).
