Glauber Rocha

Biography

Born in Bahia, in 1939 and passed away in 1981. Ideologist of the Cinema Novo, the Film library of the MOMA, in New York, guards copies of his films. He started in the cinema with the experimental short Pátio (1959). Some of his works are Cabezas cortadas (1970), Câncer (1972) and Claro (1975); all included in the retrospective Bafici ’04 dedicated to him.
