Synopsis
Made as part of the 2007 Jeonju Digital Project, this medium length film by Farocki revives the footage taken by Rudolf Breslauer (a former prisoner of the transit camp for Jews located in Westbork, the Netherlands), who was following direct orders from the Nazi commanders. The silent images of the trains coming and going and the prisoners on their daily work are minimally intervened by a series of intertitles commenting over the footage’s ambiguity, on yet another intense record of humanity rescued by Farocki.
