Synopsis

If the way a child thinks is essentially animist –as Bettelheim and Piaget both assess– then we can think that the tree branch that comes to life before Lillebror’s eyes is the most normal thing in the world, as long as he is a Twigson…Or maybe it’s the other way around, and that exceptionality tells us about a character who has an extremely fertile mind, is brave enough to magically face the fact that he and his family have moved to a different place, and creates an imaginary friend due to the lack of real ones. After a long and successful career as a TV actor, this is Asleik Engmark’s debut as a director, with a film that, rather than softening the conflicts, it explains them with wit –without discarding strong topics like family or economic problems–, and with a sense of adventure that proves that animation is not the only thing that can take us away from this world in order to return knowing the fact that we are in it. One of the surprises of Baficito.
