Alberto Yaccelini

Before Alberto Yaccelini would go back to make films in Argentina in the late 1990s, he had only made brief films about two issues that, in light of this later work, anticipated his filmmaking interests. On one hand, there were characters whose persistence and drive never faded –even when everything pointed out that their effort was useless and wouldn’t get the expected reward. They were the ones sustaining rower Demidi in Single –Un ejercicio incompleto–, which was made before the director would settle in Europe. On the other, his passion for agile and loose storytelling –that nurtured from old serials and, perhaps, American B movies–, which defined the tone of Le Péril rampant, his first and only fiction made in France.
