Luchino Visconti

He was born in Milano, Italy, in 1906. He worked as an assistant director with Jean Renoir before making his film debut with Obsession (1943). It was followed by La terra trema (1948), Beautiful (1951), Senso (1954), Rocco and His Brothers (1960), and Death in Venice (1971), among other films. He was also a theatre and opera director, and the Count of Lonate Pozzolo. He passed away in Rome in 1976.
