Catherine Breillat

She was born in Bressuire, France, in 1948. She studied acting and at age 17 published her first novel, L’Homme facile, which was ironically declared not suitable for people under 18 by the French government. She directed A Real Young Girl (1976), Romance (1999), Sex is Comedy (2002), The Last Mistress (2007; Bafici ’08) and Bluebeard (Bafici ’09), among other films.
