Miguel P. Tato

He started his career as a film critic for the newspaper El Mundo, under the pseudonym “Néstor”. During Onganía’s dictatorship, he directed the state-owned Canal 7, and from 1974 to 1978 he was the chairman of the Film Ratings Agency, censoring every film he thought was against the Catholic morals or Argentine traditions. Facundo is the only feature he ever directed. He died in 1986.
