Synopsis
Being Fernando Arrabal is a unique, destabilizing, and strange art, that includes not just being an actor, a playwright, a filmmaker, a poet, an essayist and a writer, but also being the creator of the Pánico group (together with Alejandro Jodorowsky and Roland Topor) and sharing an honorary title with Umberto Eco given by the the Pataphysics Collegium. All that power incarnated in one single person unfolds in this documentary that depicts Arrabal’s visit to Spain –his return to his home town Melilla– but also his reencounter with the memory of the censorship his work suffered during the Franco years. With almost 80 years old, the creator of Viva la muerte (1970) is more vital than one could have imagined, and Bernard Léonard y Pierre-Alexis de Potestad follow him closely on his little adventures, which can be at times disturbing, or festive, but always with a subtle and powerful load of eccentricity, like when he participates in a Russian marathon and later goes to a museum on a wheel chair.
