Synopsis
In the last decade, reports of child abuse became more and more frequent, and shook the international clergy with an issue that was finally being debated. Although lots of media sometimes acted as accomplices and deformed the density of these conflict within the hierarchs of the Vatican Church, the problem landed on the public agenda even when the victims rarely came forward, whether it was for legal issues, pain, or shame. This documentary breaks away from that thanks to 26 year-old Jesús Romero, who not only has the courage to tell his abuse story –which took place 15 years ago back when he was an altar boy– but he also initiates the search for the rapist priest who is still free and protected by the Roman Curia. Alejandra Sánchez follows the steps of Romero in order to unravel the complicity, injustice, and hypocrisy of the Catholic Church, with a complex testimony in the first person but also through an investigation that includes coarse and unseen visual documents about corruption.
