Synopsis
A week away from her religious confirmation, Anna is struggling with too many problems: her parents’ relationship is about to come to an end, stirring up his world; the sexual attraction she arouses on a teenage stalker haunts her on every corner; and the ghosts and doubts she has regarding her religious duties dogged her thoughts. In that context –a small Breton village– she will try to connect her body with her mind and feel better about herself and the group of people around her, especially her dying grandfather (Michel Galabru). An original portrait of the end of innocence, a woman’s growth, and her physical and emotional transformation, this first feature by Katell Quillévéré has a sensitivity that might seem mainly feminine at first, but that achieves to go beyond gender smartly, in order to build an open, expansive cinema.
