Luís Miñarro

Bio

Born in Barcelona, Spain, in 1949, he was a film critic for the magazines Destino and Dirigido and the co-funder of the film clubs Arts and Mirador. He worked in advertising before creating his own production company, Eddie Saeta, in 1995. Since then, he has produced films by authors like Albert Serra (Honor de cavalleria and El cant dels ocells), José Luis Guerin (En la ciudad de Sylvia) and Apichatpong Weerasethakul (Uncle Boonmee...; winner of the Golden Palm at Cannes and showing at this year’s BAFICI). He has also directed two feature films, Familystrip and Blow Horn (both from 2009). Recently, he has been recognized with the Barcelona City Award.
