Rainer Kirberg

Bio

He was born in 1954 in Oldenburg, Germany, and studied at the Düsseldorf Academy of Fine Arts. In addition to the cult film The Last Revenge (1981) and his last feature film, The Sleeping Girl (2011), both showing at this edition of the BAFICI, he directed the films Grottenolm (1985) and Schatten im Zenit (1989). He has also showed numerous art installations and performances at institutions such as Vienna’s Secession and Berlin’s Kunst Werke. Some of his music videos for the German and international independent music scene are in the collection of the Cinémathèque Française.
