OPEN AIR CINEMA WEEKEND COMING UP

SE VIENE UN FIN DE SEMANA DE CINE GRATUITO

It’s almost time. The first free outdoor cinema weekend—to be held at Pasaje Carlos Gardel (Abasto), Plaza Cataluña (Retiro) and Plaza San Martín de Tours (Recoleta)—offers a varied and attractive programme for this coming Saturday and Sunday. The films to be screened include the Argentine Una semana solos by Celina Murga and Medianeras by Gustavo Taretto, the documentaries Hit Me with Music (about the dancehall phenomenon in the districts of Kingston, Jamaica) and Football is God (about the passion for football that Boca Juniors and Maradona bring out in people), and the films “about children for adults,” Yuki & Nina and La pivellina. Moreover, on Sunday 10, there will be a special Little Bafici screening of animated short films selected from the Expotoons Animation Festival and Patito feo (photo), a wonder of stop motion made by the talented Russian director Garri Bardin.

On both days, screenings will begin at 3.00 pm at Pasaje Carlos Gardel, on the corner with Anchorena street, opposite the Abasto Shopping Mall. Medianeras will be screened on Saturday at 7.30 pm at Plaza Cataluña, located opposite the Embassy of France, on the corner of Cerrito and Arroyo. And Little Bafici’s special screening is scheduled for Sunday starting 7.30 pm at Plaza San Martín de Tours, at the junction of Schiaffino and Posadas, in Recoleta.
