Synopsis

Poor Laurent has fallen into one of adulthood’s more bitter traps: his job writing scripts for a film producer is slowly killing his passion even when the thing he enjoys the most is making up stories. But then his two children decide to enroll him in a popular narrating contest on TV, facing him with a chance to either free his imagination or drown it forever between his office’s narrow horizons. An expansion of comic book writer Jose Parrondo’s fascinating world, The Storytelling Show is, above all, a story about the unstoppable force and pleasure that is simple storytelling –the pure act of narrating, or be narrated– that sets a fast track of stories and characters capable of crossing through cultures, time periods, and geographies, both in this world and others. It attacks, by the way, the worse vices of cinema and TV, the chaos of urban life, and the weight of our daily obligations. And it also teaches us the thousands ways to say “poop”, a true narrative tool with subtle and infinite possibilities.
