Synopsis

With an explosive freedom and both eyes pointed at the future, this film is set to confront against all things labeled as terrorism in Thailand’s past and present day. From the 2001 Bangkok massacre, Thunska’s eye opens up in a both narrative and reflective range that acts as a denunciation but also contains personal journals, porn, historic revisionism, a camera acting as an urgent witness, literature, and sequences that go back and forth between poetry and realism. Redefining the documentary essay genre as a multiple experience able to join the sensorial feel and the documenting drive together, Thunska once again repositions himself in the margins so he can both challenge the government censorship that bans his films in Thailand, and crush all conventions and ideological simplifications while inventing new aesthetic possibilities as well as genres and editing styles, all of them capable of building a true audiovisual counterculture.
