Synopsis
Two friends with a common history in the Army and a vital debt are the center of this thriller which combines verbal and physical violence –buried and at times explosive– with sexual tension, ambition and loyalty dilemmas. One of them, Michal, has a family that includes a very attractive wife, Magda, their son, a dog, and a cold, neat apartment. The other one, Janek, works for a crime organization. But Michal has a past that’s the reason why he’s targeted by the mafia. Michal asks Janek to be the godfather of his son. This role is a key in the plot’s development, not so much for its religious implications but because it means the possibility of being surrogate father. The Christening in its entirety (its characters, storytelling, and tone) is tied to an inexorable fate, an unruffled vector. Its end point sits undisturbed despite all the violence, vodka, and desperation oozing from this angry, tense, and strict story.
