Synopsis
The Amateurs is part of the Film du Cinéma Suisse series directed by Freddy Buache, in which twelve filmmakers avail themselves of a wealth of Swiss cinema archive material and film sequences, from 1896 to the current day, in order to produce twelve medium-length films. Using early family, tourist and publicity films, Schmid articulates the pleasures of filming –the play of amateurs–, visiting Switzerland, both in front and behind the camera.
