
Claude Lanzmann

A director, scriptwriter, producer, and journalist, he was born in Paris, France, in 1925. In 1940 he moved with his family to Auvergne escaping the German occupation. He studied Literature and Philosophy, and directed the magazine Les Temps Modernes. He directed the documentaries Pourquoi Israel (1973), Shoah (1985) and Un vivant qui passe (1999), among others.
