Synopsis

Florian Schneider became a filmmaker on a skateboard: in the Nineties he would shoot and edit his colleagues who also lived life as fast as their rolling wooden board would allow it. That’s why the Pushed project is so personal, and follows four creators from different cities in the world who founded their activities on the passion for skateboarding. This documentary contains an overall view of contemporary urban art, or rather of the ways to redefine it through a street, roaming, mutant style led by the eternal cry of DIY (do it yourself) without being some individualist ethics and acknowledging itself as communal and indebted to skater comradeship. Schneider’s accomplices in this trip are conceptual recycling artist Bobby Puleo from New York, subtle designer and graphic artist Stefan Marx from Hamburg, Berlin photographer Adam Sello and Swedish filmmaker and “concrete vanguardist” Pontus Alv: kind of like The Fantastic 4 on wheels.
