Synopsis
Calcutta, India. Little Kabir is reprimanded in school for not doing his homework. His teacher and the principal –whose office looks more like a tribunal– take turns to scold him, but when they call up his father Kabir decides the idea of getting beaten is more than he can take, so he escapes to the city’s downtown area, where he will live through two days of adventures, his own personal odyssey. Meanwhile, in Kazakhstan, life goes untroubled for teenager Altimbek and his little sister Arujan in a small village in the steppe. But one day he falls in love with a neighbor, and she gets lost in the middle of the night while delivering a letter to her grandmother. Two simple stories stripped of any sentimentalism and the common places of cinema made with (and for) kids. Two stories that involve rebelliousness, small heroisms, and big emotions; and celebrate life, and childish imagination, building bridges between worlds that are only seemingly distant.
