Synopsis

In the early 60’s, Che Guevara and Fidel Castro gathered young architects Roberto Cottardi, Ricardo Porro and Vittorio Garatti to carry out yet another ambitious and renovating task: to build the Cuban National Arts Academy. Meaningfully enough, the place was going to rise on some extensive lots that used to be a bourgeois golf club. The magnificent initiative shaped up as the revolution advanced, and soon enough all kinds of artistic activities were being developed there, including dance, music, and painting. But after a short period of time construction was stopped for being too excessive and unnecessary. For more than forty years, the filmmakers followed a decade-long process led by Cottardi that aims to conclude this gigantic work, which remained all through this time as a cement-made open wound on the revolutionary horizon.
