Synopsis

Like all great filmmakers from the American experimental tradition, Nathaniel Dorsky carries out a parallel and individual universe with its own rules (silent 16mm at 18 frames per second) and an epic visual sensibility. Described by him as “a memory already gone”, The Return is a new document of that unmistakable vision in which the everyday world is seen through a calm, melancholically cinematic eye that dares to show us things not as they are but as they rather should be.
