Synopsis

Vivian and her partner Michel design the lingerie the prostitutes in Amsterdam’s red light district show on their window displays. Since Vivian already has a close relation with the prostitutes, the director chooses her as the interviewer but also to be the film’s pivot. The designer talks, reflects, doubts, and establishes a special empathy with her clients, who talk about their jobs, clients, dreams, boyfriends, frustrations, and joys. Some of them are bitter and even cynical about it, and some of them seem fresh and yet resigned, but all the prostitutes in Buy Me! are portrayed with closeness, warmth, and through genuine questions. Age, morals, the feeling of being uprooted, independence, professionalism, and money, are some of the subjects of this documentary that, among other things, introduces us to “the Spanish Dolly Parton”.
