Synopsis
Like the good tracker of sound storms he is (see Miroir noir), in 2008 Morisset answered Sigur Ros’ call to record the last concert given by the Icelandic band before its definitive break up –and he intervened it. He smuggled his cameras in and out of the stage and captured, in a wonderfully textured black and white, the extreme listlessness and sound barrier these aesthetes of loud quiet loud used to build. Barely interrupted by portions of archive footage that go through the history of the band, the gala that took place that night in the old Alexandra Palace in London is a witness of the occasionally excessive aesthetic quest the Icelandic band was set on with extraordinary thoroughness. With the band’s own settings (lights and projections) and some music that ranges from hypnosis to frenzy (since the band’s main feature was an ability to turn quietness into ecstasy), Inni and its elementary particles go beyond a purely musical evening and become a clearly physical experience.
