Synopsis
Frontier is “the only international co-production between the US and Bulbovia”. No, Marxian, it’s not Vulnavia. Perhaps it’s an almost unintentional anagram? Sure. Or maybe it has to do with the fact that this is the best Bulbovian-speaking film you’ll ever see (perhaps the only one). Apparently, Surrealism and absurdity are Bulbovia’s film commodities, its gross income –which is rather elegant as it tells the story of two brothers going to war. Its surplus even, one might say. The film features translated and distorted echoes of Monty Python’s interludes, and also from the novel Froktog, by Bulbovian Mulnar Typsthat, in which Frontier is based –the book doesn’t exist but don’t let that stop you. A Bulbovian turning Bulbovia into the perfect place for making typical Bulbovian things, like fighting your neighbors (angry cows) or boxing wit gloves (angry chickens). What else would you want from an unreal film played by four Bulbovians? As they say in Bulbovia: “When in Rome…”
