Synopsis

The cast and director of Sangue do meu sangue –Rita Blanco, Anabela Moreira, Vera Barreto, Cleia Almeida, Rafael Morais, Marcello Urgeghe, Beatriz Batarda, Nuno Lopes, Teresa Madruga, Wilma de Brito and João Canijo– worked together between September 2008 and April 2010 in the creation of the characters, plot, and script of what would become later Canijo’s new feature film. Long journeys of discussions, rehearsals (or merely “sit-downs to think”), invented dialogues that get written, erased, and rewritten: it’s all here, including three of Sangue do meu sangue’s scenes in their final cut. Far from a traditional making of, Trabalho de actriz, trabalho de actor registers thoroughly the methods and creative processes to enlighten the way in which these actors understand and build their characters (and at the same time shows how a filmmaker understands and builds his movie). The constellation of Sangue do meu sangue does not end with this documentary: there is also a TV version of three episodes and another, shorter feature film, the first one to be screened.
