Synopsis

In this journey, Courant’s heroine wonders through the clouds and Pyrenees mountains “way after the world’s destruction”. Devoted to Abel Gance, in this second edition of the Le Jardin des Abymes tetralogy, Courant was inspired by the actress to reproduce her world in transit, as well as by certain cultural references that worked as starting points: “As a matter of fact, Coeur bleu is a portrait of Gina Lola Benzina. Her name recalls –and also strikes as– a fictitious character. It is a name that sparks our imagination: it reminds us of films and songs from the 50’s, Italian cinema from that time, and the mocking tone of Rock and Roll”. Songs by Brigitte Bardot, Marilyn Monroe and Leonard Cohen, scores by Vivaldi, Kraftwerk and Johan Strauss, they all form this eclectic and defying musical atmosphere from which Courant dreams about a point of view that would allow him to find a rhythm in a constantly changing abysmal paradise.
