Bio
A critic, programmer and film and theater professor at the University of London, she specializes in 20th century Spanish culture. In 1995 she founded the ¡Viva! Spanish Film Festival in Manchester, together with Sandra Hebron. She’s also a programming consultant for the London Film Festival, a programmer for the local Argentine Film Festival and an artistic advisor at the Arts Council England. She writes about film in Sight and Sound and contributes regularly to BBC radio shows like The Strand, Saturday Review and Nightwaves.
