Jafar Panahi

He was born in Mianeh, Iran, in 1960. He studied Film in Tehran and directed the films The White Balloon (1995; Golden Camera at Cannes), The Mirror (1997; Golden Leopard at Locarno), The Circle (2000; Golden Lion at Venice), and Offside (2006), among others.
