He was born in Valdivia, Chile, in 1975. He studied Sociology at the Católica and Heidelberg universities, and in the London School of Economics. He directed the short films El tesoro de los caracoles (2004) and XX (2006), as well as the full-length film Optical Illusions (2009), screened at the San Sebastián Film Festival, among others.
