NAIROBI + MAD PROFFESOR, THE HOLY FIRE

JUEVES: NAIROBI + MAD PROFESSOR, EL FUEGO SAGRADO

The second day of the Festival closed with an excellent show by Nairobi and Mad Professor, acclaimed as "the genius of dub." Forty-five minutes with the best tracks from "Wu Wei" -their first album released in Argentina-; some songs from their next record, entitled "Wet", and some classic tracks from the genre in which they are specialists. The crowd at the terrace of the Centro Cultural Recoleta, enjoyed the bars and strong bases – a powerful bass together with a blunt drums- sharp-edged rhythmic guitars, floating synthesizers, and Ivi Lee’s charisma, an unique front man. But the highlight of the evening was the intervention of Mad Professor right from his “spaceship” – equipped with countless knobs, echo microphones and platters to play live records -. It was a great closing for a full-day of audiovisual stimuli.

Thursday activities concluded this way, with a day full of pop music –thanks to the remarkable shows by Anita Pallenberg, Rubin y los Subtitulados, Michael Mike and Intima; a documentary about Morrissey, screened at the Microcine-, but there was also place for rock, with the praised show by Mostruo, Acorazado Potemkin’s devastating darkness, and the films about Blur and Loquillo, at the space curated by BAFICI programmers.

There was also place in the program to enjoy interesting artistic crossings. While in the hall 4 the season Poetry and Music was carried out, the ‘Patio de la Fuente’ hosted two DJVJ shows, the ‘Patio del Aljibe’ hosted a show of Street Dance based on hip-hop., and then an original reggae fashion show took place.
