An exploration through the different layers that make up the body, a parallel contemplation about the passing of time and our relationship with space in order to rediscover the relationships we establish when we perceive movement.

Obra Lumínica

Obra lumínica is an arbitrary as well as a fussy proposal. This is the gathering of the work of a group of artists who perform with lights; however, they are most of the time, paradoxically, invisible. This performance also allows the coexistence, in the same theatre, of small-format plays, where light has a leading role.

What will be discussed are the problems and solutions of interpreting a classic text both in films and television. In addition, there will be a revision of the different interpretation styles of different times and the differences between theatrical and cinematographic interpretation.

Buenos Aires / Argentina: Adela está cazando patos

Adela Está Cazando Patos

This version of Shakespeare's Hamlet comes from the province of Formosa.It makes subtle use of this text to show us a caustic picture of Argentine politics, corruption, and violence. It is very significant that Hamlet is represented by a woman, Adela, who will be in charged of keeping memories alive.

In the sixties, Canal 13 produced a series of specials based on theater classics, among which was Shakespeare’s tragedy Hamlet, with modern costumes and set up. The broadcast became the success of the year, with a rate share of 52,8. The TV show was also edited in a 45RPM disc. Unfortunately, due to the lack of preservation’s policies of TV files , just a few fragments of the show remained. This was thanks to a private collector.

The drama takes place in a local rubbish dump. The protagonists are gypsies precariously established in Belgrado’s sorroundings. The conflic arises not because of the throne but the control over the remains of urban life. A cast integrated, mostly, by non-professional actors gives life to a tragedy that radically changes sign.

Exactamente Bajo El Sol

This is the story of a seamstress, her mother, and her daughter, who host a nephew who came to town to take a music specialization course. Since his arrival, an erotic and endogamic play starts, recalling the personality of Serge Gainsbourg, that French interpreter so much loved and desired by women as well as so detested by the defenders of morality and good manners.

Cochabamba / La Paz / Bolivia: Transparente

Transparente

Transparente plays with that same idea of transparency as a way to make very evident certain personal and national truths; to show them and put them on stage by means of a cabaret-like staging performance that proposes an experience where, on a single stage, the show, the entertainment, and frivolity, coexists with the dense, the obscure and the evil. Through a conceptual writing, the characters will try to become sometimes visible, sometimes transparent, and always trying to understand what is inside the others and also in themselves.

Buenos Aires / Argentina: Prometeo. Hasta el cuello

Prometeo. Hasta El Cuello

Santillán works on texts by Esquilo, to tell us about political affiliations in our own country; it will make us think about it, and also, about the impossibility of undergoing tragedies in a world that has no more myths. Augusto Pontoni will be the main character in this story, interpreting a man who used to be very powerful, but that now has to keep a low profile, since he is in risk of being eliminated by his own colleges.

Buenos Aires / Argentina: Tren

Tren

A group of members of some more commercial than traditional religion, take a train at Constitución station towards the Atlantic coast to take part in a spiritual meeting. This idea is the excuse that uses Piel de Lava to put on stage a performance that is highly supported by the drama of the actresses, while a multimedia device contributes with dynamism by the projecting the road through the window.

Alguien Próximo

Alguien próximo is a sort of experiment on the relationship between the closeness and that which doesn´t belong to us, as an unavoidable duality existing when two bodies meet. This play presents the body as an interrogation, as the unprecedented: that thing we still don´t know anything about. This becomes more suggestive when another body appears, thus causing an inevitable difference just by being there . The closeness of the bodies will imply receiving the “other”, entering in contact with him, getting involved by feelings, taking care and accepting each other as acts of pure responsibility, openness, and devotion.
