Alejandro Catalán

Alejandro Catalán

Alejandro Catalán is an acting professor and playwright. His work and teaching practice took place during the 90s Buenos Aires theatre scene; he renovated the drama procedures by allowing actors work to serve as backbone for the staging thus getting free from traditional rules which organized the fieldwork. He focused his interest in the actor’s body bearing in mind that the body does not get into the scene but it “is” the scene itself. He worked as an actor under the director of Ricardo Bartís and Daniel Veronese and in 2003 he directed his first play: Foz, which got recognition and invitations to participate in national and international festivals.
