Description
Wit and intellectual entertainment are the ingredients behind The Talents (Los talentos) plot. In a Buenos Aires apartment, three youngsters engage themselves into promoting their talents. In that enclosing context ruled by standards they’ve tailored to their needs they remain almost invulnerable. They do not ignore there will come the day when they will have to open themselves to the world and allow said flair to be judged. However, by resorting to tacit agreements and skillful operations, they manage to delay that test. Meanwhile, they are locked into their intellectual bunker and defy their skills through poetic rhymes, conversations and pastimes which are as flamboyant as unproductive. They are cultivated and erudite, funny and quick-witted; they have prodigious memories and fast minds. Nevertheless, their skills do not seem so efficient when summoned for more banal or even carnal causes, such as conquering a girl. That safe and challenging world will melt when the outsiders get in to impose new rules: it does not matter which tactics and strategies are used with reasonableness and perseverance; nothing turns out as planned in love matters.
