Description

Sparkling Rose (Rosa brillando) is a tiny and private poetic ceremony for twenty-five people which takes place in an old house at Parque Lezama. Uruguayan poetess Marosa Di Giorgio’s stories turn to life with the force of nature, the supernatural presence, exotism and erotism; the whole author’s universe is displayed in a tiny room thus verifying that the poetic verses can be theatrical. Di Giorgio’s work, who started her literary career in 1954, has always been an answer to her inner world demands; nature, magic, mythology and mystery are important protagonists of it. Sparkling Rose recovers these imaginary worlds and each of the poetess’ words resounds and gets multiplied in endless images. A single technical resource –a films and transparencies projector– enables exuberant nature to leak into that tiny room and evokes Marosa´s exciting world awakening the imagination. It is an intimate work inviting a plunge into a sensual female world. A vital encounter among poetry, theater and music: colors, shapes, lights and shadows, words shouted in the wind or whispered into the ear and a guitar played live compose a fragment-structured piece emerging from impressions and sensitivity.
