Description

The Germán Rozenmacher Award, created by the Centro Cultural Ricardo Rojas, dependent on UBA (Universidad de Buenos Aires), and FIBA aims to stimulate the production of Argentine authors up to 35 years old and honor the memory of this great dramatist and storyteller. Mauricio Kartun, Susana Torres Molina and Matías Umpierrez represented the jury of the seventh edition; the first award was given to Mariano Saba for the play Madrijo and the second one to Magdalena De Santo for Eduardo, la pelopincho (Eduardo, the Artificial Swimming Pool). A special recognition was awarded to: Juan. El campo (John. The Farm), from María Luz García; Casi que no está (Almost Not Here), from Melisa Freund; La marea (The Tide), from Josefina Recio; and Plantas de interior (Indoor Plants), from Sol Rodríguez Seoane.

The selected winner plays of the first and second award will be published by Los Libros del Rojas (The Rojas Books) in a thousand-copies-edition and will be translated into four different languages with English translations by Daniel Zamorano and Victoria Robertson, French translations by Françoise Thanas and Portuguese translations by Jorge Wolff.

The book presentation and the Awards will bring together not only the winners and the jury but also FIBA and Centro Cultural Ricardo Rojas authorities. The ceremony will be October the 6th at 6 PM at the Centro Cultural Ricardo Rojas.
