PERFORMANCE BY THE OBELISK

A series of urban interventions begins today, Wednesday – César Enriquezand Dora García’s Las cajas voyeuristas performed by Mexican company La Biznaga Teatro. Performances are scheduled for today, Thursday, Friday and Saturday at 1.30 p.m. at Plaza de la República, by the Obelisk, at the intersection of Corrientes and 9 de Julio avenues. This being a free singular and attractive show, it is recommended that you take a moment out of your busy schedule to enjoy this performance downtown at lunchtime.
There will be wooden boxes with multiple holes for spectators to peep and see what is going on inside – a way of bringing theater to the people, a sort of intimate theater. This will offer a look into the history of notable yet unknown – at least to the official historical narrative – Mexican women. Both the subject-matter and peep-show format (offering insightful glances) blend into an extraordinary spectacle amid the fast-paced scenes of Buenos Aires city life.
