AWARDS AND BOOKS AT C.C.R. ROJAS

PREMIOS Y LIBROS EN EL ROJAS

This afternoon at 6, the Centro Cultural Ricardo Rojas (Av. Corrientes 2038) will host two ceremonies for the traditional contests that take place before the Festival. The Alfredo de la Guardia National Theater Essay Competition will award prizes to three works, the details are as follows: Teatro Abierto 1981: Teatralogía e Historia, by Irene Villagra (first prize); La curvatura del espacio dramático. Aproximaciones a una topología teatral, by Eduardo del Estal (second prize); and Apuntes para una genealogía del espacio escénico en el teatro argentino. De la emancipación al drama de la segunda modernidad, by Manuel Maccarini (third prize).

The other event is the presentation of a book containing the two winning works of the Germán Rozenmacher Prize, which this year went to Mariano Saba, for Madrijo (first prize), and Magdalena De Santo, for Eduardo, la pelopincho (second prize). Moreover, special mentions will be awarded to María Luz García’s Juan. El campo, Melisa Freund’s Casi que no está, Josefina Recio’s La marea, and Sol Rodríguez Seoane’s Plantas de interior. The first and second prize winning plays are published by Los Libros del Rojas, in a quadrilingual edition – English translation by Daniel Zamorano and Victoria Robertson, French translation by Françoise Thanas and Portuguese translation by Jorge Wolff – with a print run of 1000 copies.
