AN UNFORGETTABLE FESTIVAL

UN FESTIVAL INOLVIDABLE

With a total attendance of 40 thousand people, the eighth edition of the Festival Internacional de Buenos Aires came to an end, after a two-week run featuring a rich and varied program with the best in international contemporary theater, dance and music as well as with the newest and best-rated in the Argentine performing arts scene. In total, the festival offered 48 performances (14 international and 34 national) at 31 venues, with rave reviews from the specialized press and an outstanding response from the public – tickets sold out for all performances requiring a paid admission ticket, and the audiences demonstrated their support through participation and critical enthusiasm.

“We feel very proud of having showcased, in Buenos Aires, the best in theater, both Argentine and from around the world; and we can confirm, once again, that the richer the offer, the greater the response from the public,” expressed the Minister of Culture of the City, Hernán Lombardi. Meanwhile, Festival Artistic Director Darío Loperfido said that he was “very satisfied because the program of performances was very well-received by the different sectors; ticket sale for most of the shows had an excellent turnout resulting in sold-out performances; and the Festival program offered a record number of national stage productions. We had a huge amount of international programmers coming to see national shows and a large audience attending the talks and workshops conducted by foreign artists. We have received feedback from the international companies, expressing their gratitude for our hospitality and congratulating us for all the efforts we put into hosting the Festival. And the public, our main priority, has been a constant companion showing their enthusiasm all along.”
