Gerardo Hochman

Gerardo Hochman studied mime with Ángel Elizondo, acrobacy with Osvaldo Bermudes, acting at the Escuela Municipal de Arte Dramático and circus arts at the Escuela Nacional de Circo de Cuba. He also studied dancing and choreographic composition with Teresa Duggan, Susana Tambutti and Oscar Araíz and pursued musical studies with Carlos Libedinski. His interdisciplinary formation enabled him to set a circus company with peculiar features: La Trup with which he worked from 1993 until 1995. As from 1998, he has directed La Arena company, formed by artists who are acrobats, actors and dancers at the same time. Jointly with them he created Gala, Fine Arts (Bellas Artes), The Round (Ronda), Ms So-and- So (Fulanos), Healthy and Alive (Sanos y salvos), The World Tour (La vuelta al mundo), Kamuflash and Travelling, which were awarded prizes in Argentina and Spain.
