Description
Ten years ago Joaquín Bonet presented That Was Not the Intention (Esa no fue la intención), a play dealing with male friendship in the late stages of adolescence which posed a huge impact among that generation youngsters. This time Luciano Cáceres, Leonardo Saggese, Sergio Surraco and Bonet himself get reunited for a second part unveiling “what happened afterwards”: the teens have reached their thirties; they haven’t met for some time and they meet again at a bachelor farewell party. Camilo (Ludovico Di Santo) joins the group: the high school “moron” has turned into a cool guy living a comfortable life. Iván, the rocker, has stopped playing and has a wife and three daughters; his household atmosphere is somewhat violent, his family is disrupted and in the meantime he gets obsessed with an under-aged girl he met at the gym. Nowadays Juan works for a publishing company; he has broken up with his girlfriend and decided to live his homosexuality freely. Mauro comes back to Buenos Aires from the United States to marry an American woman. Everything is prepared for an incredible farewell party at Camilo’s weekend home but a storm washes their plans away and from then on things get complex. Camilo hasn’t fully processed the secondary school cruelties he went through; Mauro suddenly looks less convinced of getting married and Juan and Iván still have pending issues lurking over. Time passed has eroded some relationships and modified the old roles for the group members. This second part will not only uncover old conflicts but also reveal new complicities and alliances.
