TALK AND SINGING ABOUT MEDEA
Odile Sankara is one of most prominent actresses and social activists in African arts. On the occasion of her visit to Buenos Aires to perform the French-African version of Euripides’ tragedy, she will talk with the audience about her working methods and motivations today (Sunday) at 3 p.m. at Teatro San Martín. The artist’s talk, moderated by Gabriel Chwojnik, will also feature singers from the play’s chorus. After the words, there will be an informal singing-technique workshop. Admission for this activity is free as usual, subject to seating availability.
The company Théâtre Nanterre-Amandiers presents Max Rouquette’s version of Medea, adapted to the Bambara language of rural Burkina Faso. Medea and the women that accompany her are set there, at a refugee camp, as individuals in transit living on the outskirts of countries hit by drought and civil wars.
