Biography

Double bass player Horacio Fumero was born in Santa Fe, Argentina, in 1949. After performing at the Montreux Jazz Festival with Gato Barbieri in 1973, he moved to Geneva, where he studied at the Conservatoire Supérieur de Musique. In 1980, he moved to Barcelona and a year later played the double bass in the trio led by Tete Montoliu, with whom he worked until his passing in 1997. He teaches at the Escola Superior de Música de Catalunya and at the Conservatori Superior del Liceu. He has been performing with a countless number of musicians from around the globe and with Spain’s most diverse orchestras.
