Biography

Drummer David Xirgu was born in Badalona, Spain. Since 1985, he has been a member and founder of a large number of musical ensembles, notably those in which he played with Lluís Vidal, Carme Canela, Iñaki Salvador and also the Orquestra de Cambra del Teatre Lliure. He has been a bandleader since late 1995. He has performed with John Abercrombie, Vince Mendoza, Dave Liebman, Fred Hersch, Mark Feldman, Norma Winstone, Kurt Rosenwinkel, Ben Monder, Guillermo Klein, Art Farmer, Charles Tolliver, Dave Schnitter and Mulgrew Miller, among other acclaimed musicians.
