Synopsis

Bassist Javier Malosetti was born in 1965. He was a member of Luis Alberto Spinetta’s band for eight years. He has worked with Rubén Rada, Dino Saluzzi, Lito Vitale, Jaime Roos, Baby LópezFürst, Alex Acuña, Larry Coryell, Jim Hall and Herb Ellis, among many others. He has toured extensively as a solo artist and released eleven albums, many of which were PremioGardel winners. He hosted the TV show Músicaparasoñar, produced by Sergio Villarruel on Telefé, which featured Argentine and foreign musicians. He was also the host of El perseguidor, a documentary series about the history of blues, jazz and soul, on Encuentro. In 2011, he starred inEl pasajero, the Argentine version of the musical Passing Strange, by Stew & Heidi Rodewald, with Diego Reinhold, under the direction ofFlorencia Peña, MaríaOnettoand Ana Frenkel. He currently performs with his bandElectrohope, with which he recorded his last two albums: Ten andEnvés. Varsoviais the name of the album he recorded with Rubén Rada. As a solo artist, he released Spaghetti Boogie, Villa, Malosetti vivo, Onyx, Niño andOffniño, among others. At this year’s BAJ, he will perform in a quintet withPepiTaveira (drums), Hernán Jacinto (keyboards), Gustavo Cámara (sax) andAmérico Bellotto (trumpet).
